A Simple Twist of Fate

These photos are of various old machines, found in North Wales quarries.  They've been rusting quietly now for much longer than their working lives.  Due to some quirk of fate, perhaps because they are too heavy or awkward to remove, they've been left alone.  Now,  they are objects in their own right, independent of their first use, and yet echoing back whimsically to their former identities.  I love finding things like this, although it's difficult to take photos that do them justice.

All photos taken with my humble Panasonic Lumix FS7 point n' shoot.

Lovely stuff, Iain. I especially like the first shot, nicely capturing the texture of the pitted surface and intriguingly hinting at the part beyond with the fine selective focus.

Thanks! I have to resort to low skulduggery to trick the camera's focus preferences- glad you liked the shots.
